Austria is the homeof alpine skiing and offers many winter sport activities! Numerous ski resorts invite the alpine skier with perfect slopes, modern infrastructure, great hotels and, not to forget, the famous Austrian Après Ski.

The longest run
With 15 kilometers length, the “Schwarze Schneid” in Sölden is the longest downhill run in the Austrian mountains. In total, it descends 1.970 meters altitude, starting at Rettenbach Glacier to the valley station. And for those not getting enough, Sölden is Austria’s only ski resort with three mountains over 3.000 meters altitude, called the Big3.

The best wines
The wine selection at arlberg1800 resort hotel in St. Christoph/Arlberg is one of a kind. The best wines from Austria and all over the world await wine enthusiast to enjoy, also many magnum and double magnum bottles. What a combination to enjoy great wines together with an excellent meal after a perfect skiing day in one of Austria’s best skiing resorts.

Heliskiing
Believe it or not, but this is possible in one area only in Austria - Lech/Zürs. This unique experience can be made in Austrias most renown alpine region, the Arlberg. Together with a ski guide up to three experienced skiiers can fly away and hunt the white powder snow.

Austrians grow up with skies on their feet – this is just as traditional as drinking Jagartee in winter time. This specialty is made from black tea and national rum and should be drunken hot and always in moderation. And yes, one may add suger to it as well!
