Three things to know about HANNOVER

Hannover, Trade fair, Germany

Hannover is known for its international trade shows such as Hannover Messe, Agrithechnica or Ligna. Also, Hannover was hosting the first Expo in Germany in 2000 and many buildings are still in use for international events, concerts and congresses. And the city with a population of 500.000 people has more to offer than being Germanys largest trade show location.  Half-timbered houses, the Leine castle and the museum buildings in the center show the long and rich history of this trade city. Also in the city center is the Maschsee, the cities blue heart and recreational hotspot for all outdoor activities.
Come and let's discover Hannover!

Hannover has the most kiosks of the country

Striking in Hannover are the many "small shops around the corner". Visitors from other regions of the country often wonder about the many kiosks: Hannover is actually the country's leading city with 340 kiosks.

Singing manhole cover
If you listen carefully, you can hear underground sounds in the hustle and bustle of the big city. The singing manhole cover is only a few meters away from the main station and probably unique in Germany.

Celebrate at the lake Maschsee
One of the highlights of the festival season in Hannover is the annual Maschsee Festival. Around two million visitors turn Hannover's most beautiful shore into a party and entertainment mile for almost three weeks. With live music and food and drinks, this is a unique event.

Cinema in a big hall, but like being at home: the Astor Grand Cinema.
Here you can sit on comfortable leather armchairs with adjustable backrests and footstools. Sitting as comfortable as at home on your couch, you can watch all the big movies and even get personal service for drinks and food.
